Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 4, 2026

Welcome to Ekoji. By using the Ekoji Browser Extension or Web Application (collectively, "Ekoji"), you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service.

1. Description of Service

Ekoji is a client-side cryptographic emoji translation tool. It enables users to encode plaintext messages into emoji strings and decode them using custom passphrases or secure database keys (KMS).

2. User Responsibilities

You are fully responsible for the passphrases and KMS keys you create and use. Because Ekoji operates locally and does not store or back up your passwords on our own servers, **lost passphrases or keys cannot be recovered under any circumstances.**

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Ekoji to transmit, share, or publish any material that violates applicable local, national, or international laws.

4. Private Database Connection (KMS)

If you choose to use the Key Management System (KMS) features of Ekoji by linking your custom Supabase database, you are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your Supabase keys, connection details, database tables, and invitation codes.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

Ekoji is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely secure.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Ekoji, its developers, or its contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, loss of data or loss of access to keys) arising out of the use or inability to use this software.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted directly to this page and will become effective immediately upon publishing.
